Artist Statement

My main motivation is color. Putting certain colors together to get a certain radiance, glow, or expression of atmosphere. I was practicing this with simple abstracted leave shapes. I’ve moved on lately with more line, forms, texture, and dimension, still letting the color rule. My abstract work is a mixture of unconscious and conscious activity, repeatedly letting go and reining in until a pleasing balanced is achieved.
